#79793. Cal. 44 percussion. Standard 8" octagon barrel. Matching serial numbers. Retains overall 90% of the original blue, the missing 10% is flaking on the barrel. Hammer has 95% of of original colour case! Standard threaded front sight. Walnut grips in perfect condition. Standard address with top line only partly visible, should read "Patented Sept.14,1858", missing part is clearly factory error, light stamping! Mechanically perfect. Has a mint bore and cylinder chambers. Left grip has a perfect military Inspector cartouche "B.H" (Benjamin Harris; Remington Principal Inspector 1864-65). Single letter Ordnance sub-inspection marks are stamped on most parts of the gun, even on the grips!. The Remington New Model Army Revolver was issued to Federal cavalry regiments during the last two years of the Civil War. Made 1863-1875 with a total production of about 122.000. This gun was made in 1864! An honest Civil War era military revolver, in near perfect condition!! One of the best we have ever offered for sale. Excellent !!
