JOSLYN MODEL 1864 CARBINE
#11413. Cal.52 (56-56 Spencer) Rimfire. Standard 22" Round barrel. Gun retains about 90% of the original finish. Breechblock and lock have a brown grey finish. Saddle ring bar has most of the original case color. Wood in used condition with several nicks and dings. The military inspector mark of F.D.L (Frederick D. Livingston, principal sub-inspector), is stamped twice on left side of stock, on top of stock ahead of buttplate and on left side of barrel near breech. Action is perfect, bore is like new! This carbine was made in 1864 and delivered in august of that year. Total quantity of about 12,500 of which 8000 were military and 4500 civilian. A good solid Civil War military carbine in a very fine to excellent condition.
