U.S. NAVY 1895 PATTERN REVOLVER HOLSTER
Accommodates the Colt .38 Caliber double-action revolver model 1889. The holsters are unmarked (correct!), it is assumed that all were made by William Read & Son of Boston MASS., and Henry A. Brown and Peet & Company of Springfield MASS. The 1895 pattern holster is similar to the 1889 pattern except that it is made of a lighter leather and the USN in oval embossing on flap is larger. The bottom plug is slightly recessed into the holster body, not flush with bottom of holster as is the model 1889. Very fine condition!
