WATERVLIET ARSENAL MODEL 1881 CARTRIDGE BOX
U.S. Model 1881 Mc. Keever Third Type Watervliet Arsenal Caliber 45-70 Indian War Cartridge Box. Has the brass escutcheon plate and brass top corner staples and a tool compartment. With embossed "US" on front of box. Marking on closing tab is not visible. Has an inspector's mark "A.R. SMITH" (Watervliet Arsenal Inspector) on the lower bellows, plus a second group of inspector's initials in the center that are only partly visible. Holds 20 cartridges. In used but very good condition.
